A permitted calculator may only be used on the calculator section (Part 1) of the paper/pencil version of the NSCAS Summative Mathematics for grades 6, 7, and 8. Calculators may not have a built-in or downloaded Computer Algebra System (CAS), must not be programmable or have graphing capabilities, or have access to the internet. A scientific calculator is recommended for grades 7 - 8 examination. A four-function calculator is recommended for grade 6 examination. No calculator is permitted for grades 3 - 5.
